1/31/2014 My lil kitty-likeNina crawls over to my feet when she gets tired. It's usually when I'm washing dishes or cooking in the kitchen. She would lick my feet, cry for a holding. It is so dangerous that she hangs around there, but at the same time it's too cute to refuse. I keep a soft blanket on the hard wood floor to protect her knee and soft skin. 1/29/2014 Baby proofing - DIY power strip coverDue to the necessity, I made a power strip cover with a package of 6 pack brooklyn lager. Curious to see how long this will last. 1/25/2014 Outing on a snowy Saturday1/25/2014 Get up stand upSince Nina loves to be standing, we made her a cardboard box for her to get up with. Somehow, she always stands on her toes, and that made her a blister-like hard parts on the bottom of her big toes. For now, she doesn't know what to do next. Marybe some walker might help her walking forward. 1/22/2014 Baby proofing as playgroundsAs an inexpensive baby proof solution, we hooked up some corner/edge bumper, out of plumbing pipe insulation. It was great that they came already cut in the middle with adhesives. However, our physical daughter examined the material by licking it, figured out how to take them off and wouldn't stop. She found herself another fun project. We also made the geometric shaped cushion into the wall to keep her away from kitchen area. Too bad it was a wee little bit too short. Made it a fun obstacle for her to get through. For kids, everywhere is their playground. 1/22/2014 6 months 3 weeksNina finally managed to get up by herself by holding a railing on her crib! It happened when I was trying to put her to nap. Oh man! It won't be long till she falls out of her crib, if we don't come up the solution. She just reached and knocked over a monitor camera that was attached on the top corner of the crib, too. It seems that she grows up more rapidly day by day. 1/19/2014 Knit dress by GranmaNina's wearing a knit dress that Granma made through this trip. We picked the yarn, ordered online, shipped from a company in Turkey, then she made, all within a week. Amazing! 1/18/2014 0 Comments Sit n eat togetherNina like to sit n eat together with us. To do so, we first feed her a meal (today it was avocado n pear), then we offer a cracker to keep her busy while we eat. She enjoys watching each us eat and talk. 1/18/2014 Baby proofing 101 - furniture leg warmerOur butcher block countertop is now wearing some leg warmers for protecting Nina from bumping in to it. |
